Website access and hosting
This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. When you open a page, technically necessary data is processed. This includes your IP address, the time and destination of the request, and browser information. Netlify processes technical access data to deliver the website, investigate errors and prevent attacks. I do not export access logs or create my own visitor statistics.
This processing makes the website available and secure. Its legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. My legitimate interest is to operate a functional and secure website. Access data is retained by Netlify according to the purpose of the processing and the applicable deletion and retention obligations. The provider documents linked below do not specify a single retention period covering all technical access and security logs.
Netlify may process data in the United States and other countries outside the European Economic Area. For transfers to the United States, Netlify's data processing agreement provides for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under which Netlify states it is certified. Where this mechanism does not apply, the agreement provides for EU Standard Contractual Clauses. For more information, see Netlify's privacy notice and the data processing agreement.
Contact by email
If you send us an email, we process your sender address, the message, any attachments, and the technical details to handle your inquiry. I use a mailbox provided by STRATO GmbH to receive, store and send email. There is no automatic forwarding to another mailbox and no contact form.
If your inquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR. For other inquiries, processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. My legitimate interest is to handle your inquiry and respond to you.
Once an inquiry has been fully resolved, I delete the correspondence, including my replies, from the mailbox and trash. Records still needed for an ongoing matter or to meet statutory retention obligations are kept for as long as necessary. For more information about processing by STRATO, see STRATO's privacy notice and the data processing agreement.
The provider's recovery process is separate from this. According to STRATO, messages deleted from the mailbox, including the trash, can still be recovered for up to 30 days. For details, see the explanation of email recovery.
Contact by phone
If you call me, I process your phone number, the time of the call and the information you provide to handle your inquiry. I use satellite Free, provided by sipgate GmbH, for telephone communication. I do not use voicemail, call recordings, transcriptions or AI summaries.
If your inquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR. For other inquiries, processing is based on my legitimate interest in handling your inquiry and responding to you under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. If I store data to handle your inquiry, I delete it once your inquiry has been fully resolved, provided it is no longer needed and no statutory retention obligations apply.
sipgate processes the connection data necessary for telephony, particularly the phone numbers involved and the start and end of a call. The call history used across devices is stored by sipgate. According to the provider, these entries are deleted when I delete them in the app or the contract ends. This is separate from data sipgate processes for billing or statutory retention obligations. For more information, see satellite's privacy notice.
